Direct Inbound Link Method #2: Link Directory
Author: Jason Ciment File:
Direct Inbound Link Method #2: Link Directory Create a Link Directory
Timetable: Day 16

The link to this page should be on your home page. Make sure it's visible but that it doesn't intrude on traffic.

In the anchor text to your link directory, don't use the word "link", or "resources".

You should create link page themes and place only related links together on the same webpage. Each theme (think "category") should act as an index page for links. Don't have more than 25 links max per page. if there are more than 25 outbound links for that category, create a 2nd link page linked from the category index page.

A good idea to try when setting up your links page is Instead of using the standard format of "Link/Description" per line, try to write some relevant paragraph looking content to your that page's theme. Then, in a natural manner insert outbound links. This way your page may still have many outbound links but it should prevent link exchange penalties because of the format.

You could create a Sports links page, and a Business links page. Only place the business websites on the Business links page and so on.

Example of how you should set up your main links directory. Let's say a visitor clicks on "General Business", it would then take you to a page that would have links to each of your individual Business related content pages. Each links page would have a maximum of 25 links. If I need to add more links I would create an additional links page and then also add a links page directory with links to each of the links pages. So you would have this type of setup:
  • Links page directory with links to LP1, LP2 and LP3
  • LP1 - Links Page 1 (with 25 links)
  • LP2 - Links Page 2 (with 25 links)
  • LP3 - Links Page 3 (with 25 links)
