Off-Site Linking Tactic #5: Froogle

Off-Site Linking Tactic #5: Froogle Overview of Listing Your Product/Service with Froogle
If you can convert your content into a product listing for froogle, it means you can get your site listed overnight inside Google. This is a great way to speed up the process of ranking your site because generally there is a delay for new web sites unless they get in through a back door such as froogle. You also have the chance of using this listing concept to list your product or service on other comparison engines like nextag or shopping.com.

Timetable: Day 13

  • Start here: https://www.google.com/froogle/merchants

  • Information provided through a data feed will list higher than what is found via a web crawler. Googlebot sends crawl data from product pages to Froogle automatically.

  • Use descriptive image names and titles

  • Use keywords in the data you submit

  • Submit data every 2 weeks or use software that submits your data feed every day.

  • Froogle allows you to upload images, product descriptions, and physical store information to its search engine within 24 hours.

  • If you're only a service provider (ie. No products), you MAY be allowed to create listings. For example, you can't list vague graphic design services but you may be allowed to use a "logo design package". You may also be able to publish a report or eBook and market it alongside its print competition.
If Google doesn't accept your product feed, it may be worth it to open up an eBay store. Ebay stores are automatically added to Google's feeds, and although they cost a little extra money a month, it may be worth it considering the sheer numbers of searches Froogle is already claiming.
