Overview of Article Marketing There are hundreds of web sites that syndicate article content. If you write an article (or outsource it of course) you can post your article on these directories. If they pick up your article listing, you get a free incoming link into your web site. Multiply this by the hundreds of directories that are out there and you can fairly easily have hundreds of links into your web site "per article". Then, if your article is really compelling, it may even be picked up and syndicated in general by regular web sites that most importantly will more than likely be contextually relevant to your site. This is the proverbial 2 birds with one stone approach because not only do you get the much needed inbound links from the directories but you may get even more links from the web sites that subscribe to those directories.
This section describes the article marketing process from 4 viewpoints:
- How to write an article
- How to outsource the writing of an article
- Where you submit each article
- Where to get article ideas/content plus recycling articles as press releases

How to structure an article:
- 350-500 words is plenty with the usual 3-7% keyword rich content density. If you write a 1500 word article you can split it into multiple parts.
- Add Keywords to Title, to Anchor Text and to bulleted lists.
- Link "title" tag. Allows you to repeat keyword phrases. In the HTML code this looks like: keyword anchor text
- In the footer of each article, make sure to include a resource box with:

- Quotations or pull quotes are short meaningful quotes from key individuals and you can have about 1 to 3 in a standard article of 1,000 words. Interviews, where you report both the question and the answer; give you an opportunity to easily repeat keyword phrases.
- Takeaway box. A summary that says "the main points in this article are…"
Outsourcing Articles:
- Use sites like http://www.elance.com to find people who will write articles.
- Request 350-450W article projects around keywords of your choice.
- Average article price should be no higher then $10/article
- Shoot for $8-$10 per article.
- Ask for 2 versions of the article and the 2nd version of the article should be at least 30% different content
- The "main" article will be submitted to directories
- The revised article will reside in your article directory
- Make sure to request "exclusive rights" to the articles in the posting.
- Hiring an outsourcer
- See recipients past projects
- Make sure they understand how to write keyword rich articles

Use yahoo.groups.com, and surf newsgroups on Google for article ideas.
You can resubmit same article by changing title, angle, and minor content
Look for top advertisers by using Google search engine, look for webmasters that spend tons of money on adwords payperclick advertising, piggy back off their site, they will love your fresh content.
