Briefly, you are going to construct 5 mini-sites or
keyword rich pathways (ie. groups of pages) through your site. Your
home page will have links to 5 subdomain directories (each directory
being named for one of your top keyword phrases) and each directory
should have 5 web pages which are sequentially linked one to the next
(1 links to 2, 2 links to 3 … and 5 links to the next subdomain in the
chain). What you get then is a chain of 5 mini-sites linked
sequentially to each other with the home page of the site standing at
the top of the pyramid of mini-sites.
Example of a 5 mini-site structure: In
our example of a web site devoted to "Shopping cart software" we might
have the 5 following links leading to subdirectories/subdomains (think
of them as drawers in a filing cabinet) and within each
subdirectory/subdomain there will be at least 5 pages of content
specific to each subdirectory (think folders inside a drawer of the
filing cabinet).
